Samsung Blu Ray Player HELP. please.?

I just bought a samsung blu ray player today (model BD-C6500) it sounded great, wireless internet, blah blah blah. So I get home and the set up looks simple. All you have to do is plug the hdmi cable from the blu ray player into the back of my hdtv ( its a 42" sharp flat panel hdtv- fairly new) guess what? it doesnt work. I decided to see if it was the blu ray player itself so I plugged in the regular a/v cables (red, white, yellow) and that works fine. so why wouldnt the hdmi cable work? I have an hd tv that works great, i know its not the tv. Before returning I figured Id see if anyone had any other suggestions. ( I even bought a new high speed hdmi cable)

Blu-ray and DVDS don’t play on PS3?

Ok, I’m not fussed about the DVDs as I have a DVD player but Blu-ray aren’t playing on my PS3. I can get games to work fine but just blu-ray movies wont play.
Basically when I insert the disc it goes from the menu screen to the screen where you select whether I want the Internet thingy for Blu-ray I’ve tried both yes and no and either way it just goes to a blank screen – I’ve sat there for an hour because someone said it takes a while to load and it was still the same after that.
I’m using an HDMI cable on a Samsung HD TV… I’ve set the resolution, I’ve turned off the 24hz thingy in BD/DVD settings…. I’ve played around with display settings, reset the whole ps, I believe I have done everything that most people are suggesting but I still can’t get it to work.
Any suggestions?

We own a gigantic Mitsubishi projection big screen tv that is 8 years old and still works great. Will we still get all the benefits of Blu Ray without having an HD tv?

blu-ray or HD DVD UP CONVERTERS?

WHATS BETTER BLU-RAY OR A HD UP-CONVERTER DVD PLAYER FOR A HD TV SET. HAVE A LOT OF DVD+R DVDS, THEY PLAY GOOD. WHAT WOULD MAKE THEM PLAY HD???
blu-ray will play all???

I am looking to replace a Mediagate MG-35 which is dying, and from my experience with it, I have no interest in buying another one.

I am looking for a media player that I can hook up to my TV, to play cached DVDs and recorded videos.

The features I need:
Supports .iso, .avi, .mpg formats
Hard drive, LAN, and either FTP or SMB file sharing
A/V outputs (R/W/Y) for a non-HD TV

Features I don’t NEED, but might be nice to have:
USB ports, playlists, wireless LAN, HD support

If you have recommendations or reviews (Positive OR Negative) about products fitting these specs, I’d like to hear about it!

Wanting to upgrade DirectTV DVR to HD-DVR?

I’m looking to upgrade my normal DVR to HD-DVR sometime soon. After reading numerous reviews, it seems that all the currect DTV HD-DVRs are garbage. I’m happy with my current normal DVR unit, but I would like to have an HD-DVR to hook my 1080p monitor up via an HDMI cable.

So heres my questions that need to be resolved in order.
1. Is there anyone here with an HD-DVR through DirectTV that actually likes it? (EDIT: Did a little more research and it seems the HD PLUS! from DirectTV is a decent box. Thus ignore this question)
2. I have TWO tvs I would like to hook the single box up to. ONE is a non-hd tv, the other is a 24" Samsung 1080p monitor that has 2-3 HDMI ports. Thus three questions rise from this.
a. Can I hook a non-hd tv up to the DirectTV Plus HD DVR? The tv has component cables (RWY) AND the typical cable connection. My current DVR has a video output for the cable connection.
b. Can I hook BOTH tvs up at once? Meaning, the monitor via HDMI & the other TV at the same time.
3. Currently I have a non-HD package, would I need to upgrade my package to get an HD package? I do not want to have to pay any more than I already do (80+ a month) :(

Are the computer monitors HD?

I’ve just heard in a website while reading some reviews of xbox 360 that all the monitors are HD and u dont need a HD tv to play your xobox games in an HD platform. Is it true??

Best HD Component AV cable to buy?

Im buying an HD tv tomorrow and i have an xbox 360. So i want to know which brand of cables to buy for the cheapest price. Ive seen the Madcatz component cables for or the official Microsoft xbox 360 cables for .99. Some reviews said the Madcatz one didnt work for them others say it works perfectly.

It’s a Hitachi 60vg825. A lot of the posts I’ve read on this subject say that the television must play in HD, I’m not sure if mine does, but the tv does say "HD TV ready" http://reviews.cnet.com/projection-tvs/hitachi-60vg825/4505-6484_7-31426938.html?tag=rnav
I just realized that my dvd player has the feature so I thought I’d see if I can give it a try.
