Comparison of 1080p To 720p HDTV
When looking to buy an HDTV, you need to consider the resolution or pixel count. The 1080p in my opinion offers more value for your money than a 720p TV. While the 720p will always be priced less, you get what you pay for. The 1080p TV gives has over 2 million pixels of resolution per frame!
The 720p resolution television is the budget priced TV for those seeking an HDTV with a reasonable price. It has 720 vertical scan lines of resolution and and 1280 horizontal lines that give the television a total resolution quality of 720X 1280. The letter “p” means progressive scan. Progressive scan means the lines are refreshed at the same time. Older TVs use a technology where the lines are interlaced.
All 1080p Plasma high definition TVs uses the progressive scan. The 1080′s have the highest resolution. The picture quality is sharper and resembles the quality of Blu ray movies. The TVs can also double as a computer monitor. In this case you can get a nearly doubled resolution. Multiple windows can be opened side by side. This is major benefit over 720p HDTV. The 720p HDTV cannot be connected to a computer monitor. Today, the TV and computer are becoming seamless. Correctly speaking, they are now acting as one unit. For those people who are gamers, this is an incredible upgrade in quality and convenience.
To give you a perspective on how high the quality is of a 1080p model, it’s about the same quality as a 2K digital camera technology.
With prices at record lows, now is the time to look. Most of the major manufactures are coming out with new models and they will almost be giving away the old models. The differences are not that significant.
